Welcome to the website of the Forest Park Veterinary Clinic!  We are a full service veterinary practice for dogs and cats located in Columbus, Ohio. The health and well being of your furry family member is our top priority. We hope that the information provided on this website will provide answers to any questions you have regarding our service, policies and procedures. 

We strive to treat each of our patients as we would our own pets.  We provide a wide range of services including wellness programs with vaccinations, spaying or neutering as well as declaws and other surgical procedures.  We have the latest in diagnostic technologies including digital radiographs and ultrasound. We work closely with one of the country's premier veterinary laboratories for more specific diagnostic tests.We have a fully stocked pharmacy here in the clinic for your convenience, including a variety of heartworm and flea preventions.

Our staff is made up of diverse group of educated individuals that provide an extensive background in veterinary medicine and general pet care.  We are proud to have a "family" feel to our office and hope that you will feel the same when you visit us.

    Dr. James A. Lehnerd, Practice Owner

    Dr. James A. Lehnerd is a 1971 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He took over ownership of the Forest Park Veterinary Clinic in 1974. Dr. Lehnerd has been very active in his community and state and local professional organizations. He was one of six founding Veterinarians for the Columbus Veterinary Emergency Service which has evolved into MedVet, one of the largest and best emergency and specialty veterinary clinics in the country. His children are grown, so he lives with his wife Susi and their variety of pets.

  • Dr. Susan Reed

    Dr. Susan Reed

    Dr. Susan Reed is a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She started working at Forest Park while in veterinary school and was hired by Dr. Lehnerd after graduation. She has worked both full-time and part-time in the practice over the years, she was even doing fill in work with us while living in California! When not at work she enjoys hiking, swimming, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Tom and their four dogs.

  • Dr. Christina Little

    Dr. Christina Little

    Dr. Christina Little is a 2005 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation she completed a year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. She then moved back to Columbus and started working here in 2006. She and her husband have a daughter, Ashley, and share their home with their Boxer, Sanders, and their Vizsla, Savannah. She loves to travel to visit her family in Vermont, where she grew up, and always hopes to take advantage of the great ski hills. She also enjoys reading, gardening and hiking.

    Michelle Calcasola, Practice Manager

    Michelle started with Forest Park Veterinary Clinic as a part-time receptionist in high school and college.  After graduating from OSU in 1998, she worked full-time for several advertising agencies and gained extensive education in marketing.  After time she missed the daily interaction with pets and their owners, so in 2001 she returned to Forest Park Veterinary Clinic as our Practice Manager.  She loves combining her passions for business and animals. Michelle lives in Dublin with her husband and their two small children along with their dog Ladybug and cat Katlin.

    Kim Heskett (Foster). Veterinary Technician, Patient Service Supervisor

    Kim is a 1988 graduate of the Columbus State Veterinary Technology program. She was a registered technician for 5 years before joining Forest Park in 1993. She has been here full time ever since! Kim enjoys spending time at home with her daughter and her husband. She also has a variety of cats along with three dogs, Cinder, Faith, and Charity. She enjoys spending time with her daughter in all her activities, fostering kittens for the clinic if needed, reading (especially non-fiction animal stories), and crafting in her spare time.

    Ginny Vesha, Veterinary Assistant, Client Service Supervisor

    Ginny is a born and raised Buckeye and hs been an employee of Forest Park since 2007. She graduated from OSU with a Bachelor's degree in English in 2006 with the intention of finishing a dual major in Chemistry at some point in the future. In her first year as a veterinary assistant she met her now husband on one of his frequent visits to our clinic with his 15 year old Lab. They currently have 4 dogs and 3 cats and they reside in Upper Arlington.

    Rebecca Estok, Veterinary Technician

    Rebecca originates from Fords, NJ; she moved to Columbus in 1994 and worked in a couple different places, including the public library and for the public school system. She began working in veterinary medicine in 2006, she graduated from Columbus State with her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2009 and joined us at Forest Park shortly after. She and her partner have a variety of cats in their home, as well as ferrets and a turtle. Rebecca is currently pursuing a B.S. at Ohio State University in Medical Laboratory Science. Rebecca enjoys listen to music, although currently she spends most of her spare time doing schoolwork.

    Tiffany Gaines Ray, Veterinary Technician

    Tiffany graduated from Columbus State in 2002, she has 10 years of experience in the veterinary field before coming to work with us. She also has a small pet sitting business out of her home. Tiffany presently lives in Sunbury with her fiancee (her wedding is in April!) where they have a 5 acres. Their family consists of 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 4 goats, though one day she would like to add horses to the mix. She enjoys outdoor activities like camping, boating, hiking, and being around wildlife.

    Suzie has been with us at Forest Park Veterinary Clinic since October 2010 as a Veterinary Technician.  While Suzie works full time at MedVet during the week in their Internal Medicine department, she works with us on Fridays and as her schedule otherwise allows. In her spare time she enjoys reading and working out as well as spending time with her boyfriend and their dogs Foxtrot, Taig and Audrey and her cat, Tybalt.

    Amy Hiss, Veterinary Technician

    Amy started at Forest Park in June 1998 after graduating with a dual degree from Columbus State (Veterinary Technology) and Otterbein University (Equine Technology/Equine Management). While she opted to pursue a career in the human nursing field in 2005, she continued working part time with us until her graduation in 2008. Amy's family includes her husband, her young son, and her two special needs cats. She enjoys reading (especially educating herself on nutrition) and likes spending days at the park with her son.

    Laura started with Forest Park Veterinary Clinic in 1992 assisting with cleaning and eventually became a part-time assistant and receptionist while attending Columbus State and The Ohio State University where she receive a Bachelor's Degree and an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.  She has worked for several Veterinary Practices over the years and most recently worked in the Cardiology Department at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She currently works for our practice as a Veterinary Technician on Saturdays.  She is married and has a daughter named Evelyn.  She has 2 cats, Cashmere & Laurel as well as a dog named Siggy.

    Chelsea started with Forest Park just out of technician school in Spring of 2008, she stayed with the clinic full time until October of 2010, when she went to work full time at her mom's store (Kimberly's Diamond Corner.) She often works when another employee needs a day off as a fill in technician, it helps to keep her skills sharp! Chelsea just married her longtime boyfriend / fiancee Mike in October 2011, they enjoy time spent together with their dogs Obie and Otis and their cats Grace, Sterling, and Jasmine. Chelsea also spends a lot of time riding her horse, Nick, who she has been with for 9 years.

    Kelly

    Kelly joined the Forest Park family in June of 2012 as a new face at our reception desk. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology from The Ohio State University in the spring of 2012. Kelly is well traveled, having gone to Indonesia in the summer of 2011 with a conservation research company, she hopes to travel much more in the future. When she’s not traveling the world, Kelly likes to stay connected to the local music, art, and businesses of Columbus! She currently lives with only one dog, Grace, a black lab/corgi mix, but isn’t opposed to expanding her furry family!
